Short but steep. On the descent towards Couledoux is the memorial to Fabio Casartelli, who died here on 18 July 1995 – a winged bicycle wheel in white marble, with a sundial on the stone showing the date and time of the crash. The last col of the reverse queen stage before Saint-Girons.
