Porté-Puymorens lies near the border with Andorra and, at 900 m, has one of the biggest vertical drops in the Pyrenees. The lifts start in the village and reach 2,470 m at the Dôme de la Mine. The ski area has four sectors – Village, la Mine, Fontfrède and la Vignole – that mainly face north-west, which means good snow. The resort is less well known than its neighbours and therefore often quiet.

Train
Porté-Puymorens has its own stop on the Toulouse–Latour-de-Carol line (liO train). Latour-de-Carol (approx. 15 km) also has trains from Barcelona (Rodalies R3) and the Train jaune.
Car
N20 from Toulouse via Ax-les-Thermes and the Puymorens tunnel (toll), or over the Col de Puymorens. From Perpignan the N116 to Bourg-Madame and the N20 northwards. Winter tyres or chains needed.
