Virós-Vallferrera

Vall Ferrera, Pallars Sobirà (Catalonia)

Virós lies in the Bosc de Virós, a large old fir forest in the Parc Natural de l'Alt Pirineu. The base is the Refugi del Gall Fer, named after the capercaillie that lives in the forest. The trails are mostly easy and run through dense forest. The area opened in 2001 and is one of the wildest in Catalonia.
