The viewpoint pass above Ax-les-Thermes

The 1,431-metre pass links the upper Ariège valley with the high plateau towards Prades, Montaillou and the Pays de Sault. From the pass and the cross-country ski trails you can see more than 100 kilometres of the main Pyrenean ridge, from the peaks of Andorra to the Carlit. The Tour de France has crossed it four times, most recently in 2001. In winter there are around 60 kilometres of cross-country trails, snowshoe routes and dog sledding.
