Candanchú

Valle del Aragón (Aísa), Huesca, Aragon

Candanchú is regarded as Spain's oldest ski resort. The first season was 1928–29, the same year that the great border station at Canfranc opened. The resort lies just below the Col du Somport on the French border and is known for its abundant snow and its steep black pistes below Tuca Blanca (2,400 m). It has four sub-areas: Pista Grande, Tobazo, Tuca Blanca and Rinconada. Together with its neighbour Astún, Candanchú forms the 100K ski area, with a shared lift pass and about 100 km of pistes.
