The Ripollès centre is in Sant Joan de les Abadesses, on the old Ruta del Ferro railway, which is now a gravel cycle path. From here you can reach quiet valleys, monastery villages and higher routes towards the Vall de Camprodon and Vall de Núria. The Pirinexus loop passes through the town.
