Pirinexus is a cross-border loop between Catalonia and Roussillon that largely follows old railway lines (vías verdes), minor roads and gravel roads. The highest point is the Col d'Ares at approx. 1,500 m, and the loop passes Girona, the volcanic landscape around Olot, Prats-de-Mollo, Céret and the Costa Brava. It suits a gravel, touring or hybrid bike better than a full-suspension MTB.
